Welcome to Purley Walcountians Hockey Club

We are a flourishing club, competitive and friendly, and new members are always welcome.

Facilities

We are very lucky to be one of the few Surrey clubs where our playing facilities and our clubhouse are on the same site. Our sand-dressed Astro was brand new in August 2004 and offers a superb playing facility for all our teams. Our clubhouse has a bar and many social events as we are part of the Old Walcountians Sports Association, with links to Wallington County Grammar School. Other sports catered for are rugby, lacrosse, cricket and a thriving youth football club.

Men’s Hockey

We run 4 sides every Saturday plus Veterans (over 35) and Badgers teams. Our Men’s 1st XI play in South Premier League Division 1, are coached by John Oliver and offer a high standard of competitive hockey. All of our other sides play in various leagues in the South and Surrey.

Ladies Hockey

Our Ladies 1st XI won the EHA Trophy in 2005 as well as promotion to the South League Division 1, so a higher standard of competition is expected for the coming season. The rest of ladies teams – 2nd to 5th XI – play in various Surrey leagues and cater for all skill levels from beginners to accomplished players.

Colts Hockey

We have a flourishing Colts section with nearly 100 young boys and girls from age 5 to 18 training regularly on Sundays. We compete in a number of Colts leagues and various tournaments through the season. Whether you just want to come along and learn how to play or join a team, we cater for all standards. We have been awarded Club 1st, which recognises our club as a child-friendly, safe and efficient place for youngsters to play.
